Jon Gohdes

Lead Pastor

Jon was born in north-central Wisconsin and lived there during his growing up years. He became a believer in Jesus Christ at a young age and was mentored to study the Bible and serve in ministry while in high school. He moved to Kansas City to attend Calvary Bible College (now Calvary University) and graduated with a BA in pastoral studies and a MA in biblical counseling. He is certified with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). He came to Shawnee Bible Church in 2011 and served in various ministry roles until he was called as lead pastor in 2019. He is married to his lovely wife Merrilee, and together they enjoy raising their two sons William and Elliott. They also enjoy hospitality, music, reading, traveling, organizing things, and getting outside.

Josh Pritchard

Associate Pastor

Josh grew up in Chicago. He graduated from Wheaton College with a Business degree and later attended Dallas Theological Seminary, where he earned his Master’s in Biblical Studies. He loves teaching the Bible, has a big heart for missions, and enjoys photography, web development, and video production & editing. When not serving at church, Josh is the owner/operator of a business that helps people self-publish books. Josh met his wife Leah while leading the college ministry together at their church. After marrying, they served as missionaries in China for several years. Josh loves a good cup of coffee and is a certified coffee roaster with the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe. He and Leah have three awesome kids: Knox, Violet, and Noah.

Bekah Spicer

Administrative Assistant

Bekah was born in Maine, but spent her growing up years in Texas and Wisconsin. She moved to Missouri in 2010 to attend Calvary Bible College (now Calvary University) and married her college sweetheart Paul after graduating with a Bachelor's in History. She began attending Shawnee Bible Church in 2014 while her husband Paul completed his youth pastor internship. The Spicers made SBC their church home, had their son Cooper, and Bekah joined the staff in 2022. Bekah and her family love exploring playgrounds in the greater KC area, sitting around the firepit in their backyard, playing board games, camping, and spending time with friends and family.
